Members can reserve a second home any time – in advance or at the last minute – anywhere around the world. Homeowners in different markets are linked on a single Web site. They simply go online, browse, click and instantly reserve their vacations of a lifetime in a variety of settings around the globe. Our interactive site allows members to set alerts and connect with other members to plan their getaways.
3rd Home ensures that each property meets the highest levels of quality. We provide detailed information about the homes and their owners – who are also 3rd Home members – before an exchange is made.
Key Program
A second home exchange “banking” system debits and credits “keys” to and from member accounts with each exchange. These keys become “currency” that is good anytime, anywhere.
Destinations are rated on a sliding "key" system:
- Members accumulate keys by hosting other members.
- The number of keys offered is based on the value of your home.
- Keys are used as currency to purchase visits to other homes in the program.
Use your keys to unlock various combinations of vacations. The more keys you accumulate, the more options you can enjoy. This shows just one example of the multiple possibilities available.
Reservations
- Members reserve available homes anytime on the 3rd Home web site. Once a reservation is accepted by the host, a $250.00 transaction fee is paid to 3rd Home and the corresponding number of “keys” is deducted from the guest’s account.
- Both the vacationing member and the host member receive an electronic confirmation of the exchange.
- Each host has the opportunity to accept or decline the reservation request.
- No keys or monies are debited from guests’ accounts if a request goes unanswered.
- All tracking and banking of keys is done electronically. Members can view their account status online any time.
